Job summary

Information Technology Senior Management Forum in Austin, TX is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead AI/ML initiatives on HP’s Workforce Experience Platform AI Systems team. The role focuses on advancing data-driven customer experiences through model development, deployment, and rigorous experimentation at scale.

You will partner with product and engineering leaders to translate vision into predictive capabilities, bring models into production across millions of devices, and mentor teams

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operational Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, etc.).
• 10+ years of industry experience in predictive modeling and data science roles.
• Expert knowledge of SQL, Python, and PySpark.
• Experience with structured and unstructured data and modern data transformation methodologies.
• Deep understanding of current machine learning concepts and tools.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with product management to understand the product vision and user engagement strategy for the WSS Managed Insights Team.
• Spot AI opportunities, prototype and iterate models, and deploy them across millions of devices.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and Software Engineers to deliver items on the Data Science Roadmap in a fast-paced environment.
• Build subject matter expertise to align business needs with technical constraints.
• Maintain focus on strategy and goal-oriented results when solving complex problems.
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders on program progress, issues, and risks.
• Serve as a subject matter expert through internal training and demonstrations of key product functionality.
• Handle day-to-day problem solving and implement quick, effective action plans for priorities.
• Influence decision-making and problem solving across teams.
• Run A/B testing and experimentation to validate and improve outcomes.
