Job summary

Everforth Apex seeks a PLC Controls Technician to support deployment, installation, integration, commissioning, and startup of material handling equipment in large-scale industrial environments. The role is on-site in Papillion, NE, with required travel to Alberta, Canada.

Expect 40–50 hours/week, Monday–Saturday schedule, and potential extension beyond 1–2 months. The candidate will deploy PLC code, troubleshoot issues, and assist with electrical installation and turnover documentation, using

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Controls/Automation/Commissioning/Field Service Technician or similar role.
• Experience with PLC programming, code deployment and troubleshooting PLC-controlled systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare PLC deployment packages for site installations and deploy PLC code to production equipment.
• Support PLC startup and commissioning activities, including debugging PLC issues.
• Install and integrate controls hardware for conveyor and sortation systems, including PLCs and field I/O devices.
• Assist with electrical installation activities and retrofits for material handling equipment.
• Conduct commissioning activities: device checkout, I/O verification, functional testing with PLC software, HMI and SCADA.
• Troubleshoot PLC communication, device configuration, network failures and startup faults.
• Maintain installation and commissioning records and turnover documentation.
