Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a BMS/FMS Engineer to support a large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing expansion in Clayton, North Carolina. This onsite, long-term contract role requires 100% onsite presence and will contribute to critical building automation and facility monitoring initiatives within a GMP environment.

Responsibilities include review and approval of validation-related documentation, coordination with vendors and engineers, and system configuration across BMS/FMS platforms such as

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of experience in validation, commissioning documentation, qualification, or related regulated-industry engineering activities, preferably within pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, GxP principles, GMP compliance requirements, and regulated facility operations.
• Interpret P&IDs, control narratives, functional specifications, and sequences of operation.
• Hands-on understanding of building automation technologies including controller configuration, networking fundamentals, IP addressing, and firewall concepts.
• Experience with BMS platforms such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, or similar; greenfield project exposure is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Review, verification, and approval of automation, commissioning, qualification, and validation documentation for BMS and FMS.
• Support GMP-compliant validation activities and ensure documentation aligns with standards.
• Coordinate with automation vendors, engineering, quality groups, and project stakeholders to facilitate testing and readiness.
• Assist with system configuration tasks including user management, platform setup, controller integration, and environment testing.
• Provide project coordination through progress reporting and stakeholder communications.
