Job summary

Labcorp in Shelton, CT is seeking a Report Coordinator – Pathology Support (Onsite) to join our Pathology team. The role ensures timely processing of cases, coordination among pathologists, clinicians, and laboratory departments, and accurate reporting of test results.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of laboratory experience. Pathology or medical transcription experience is preferred, along with strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year or more of laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all cases entering the pathology suite are processed to completion according to pathologist/client expectations within quality, time, and volume constraints.
• Reviews test requisitions and submitted medical records to verify test orders, sample type, and clinical information. Assigns cases to appropriate pathologist according to established protocol.
• Adds, reflexes, cancels, or sends out testing as directed by pathologists/clients.
• Monitors alert worklist and investigates, takes action, follows up, and/or resolves issues as necessary.
• Responds with urgency to requests for information from pathologists, clients, or laboratory departments to resolve reporting delays, client concerns, and IT issues.
• Prepares revised reports for pathologist signature.
• Coordinates communication between pathologists, laboratory departments, and clinicians to ensure timely completion and reporting of laboratory test results to client.
• Provides general office support to Pathology Department including phones, faxing, filing, email, US mail, FedEx shipping, document scanning, and preparation of materials for off-site storage.
