Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking a Part-time Customer Supply Chain Support in Davis, CA to support customer supply chain activities and improve onsite performance. This entry-level role builds foundation in customer relationship management and operations.

You will engage in inventory management, order placement, and continuous improvement while working a 7:00am–5:00pm shift with up to 28 hours per week. Previous related coursework or experience is helpful.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older, due to the nature of work.
• Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain/Operations Management or equivalent experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Highly motivated, self-directed and customer service oriented.
• Comfortable in a sales-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated core values: ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork.
• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages weighing 25lbs-50lbs, up to 75lbs.
• Pass the required drug screen (US, Puerto Rico, Guam only).

Responsibilities

• Responding and coordinating resources relative to customer requests.
• Managing inventory.
• Placing and fulfilling orders.
• Receiving and shipping inventory.
• Executing inventory fulfillment within the customer facility.
• Sourcing and quoting new and existing products.
• Participating in continuous improvement activities and implementing new business processes.
• Monetizing and reporting the value of supply chain management activities to the customer.
