Job summary

Jacobs in San Francisco seeks an experienced Construction Manager to lead renovations in fully occupied labs, coordinating field activities and contractor performance with minimal disruption.

You will serve as onsite Owner’s Representative, overseeing schedules, logistics, BIM coordination, and risk management to ensure timely completion while maintaining safety and quality across complex projects.

Qualifications

• Holds a Bachelor’s degree in construction-related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of construction management experience in renovations, tenant improvements, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of means/methods, sequencing, logistics, site controls, and safety.
• Willingness to work flexible hours for critical activities and operations.
• Proven oversight of field coordination, daily oversight, QA, and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day field oversight of renovation and construction activities.
• Monitor contractor performance, plans, specs, schedules, and procedures.
• Coordinate look-ahead schedules, sequencing, and critical-path activities.
• Manage site logistics including access, deliveries, and occupied-area impacts.
• Support BIM, trade coordination, field verification, and resolving dependencies.
• Track RFIs, submittals, procurement, inspections, and progress deliverables.
• Conduct regular field walks to observe progress and readiness.
• Identify risks and escalate for timely resolution.
• Coordinate with contractors, inspectors, facilities, and stakeholders.
• Maintain documentation and provide progress reporting to leadership.
