Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Lab Technician to join our Fortune 500 client on a 12-month contract, onsite in Jackson, MI. The role involves performing NDT examinations including radiography, ultrasonics, and other methods, with potential extended assignments within Michigan and overtime to meet project needs.

The candidate will be required to certify in industrial radiography and additional NDT methods after training, with duties performed around high energy radioactive isotopes.

• Problem solving around processes, equipment, and specific technical methods.

Responsibilities

• The Associate NDT Lab Technician performs NDT examinations and related activities: Radiography, Ultrasonic, Visual, Liquid penetrant, Magnetic particle, and Eddy current testing.
• Projects are located at fossil generating plants and natural gas pipelines along with other facilities.
• Evaluate test results in accordance with nationally accepted codes and specifications.
• Occasion to work extended out-of-town assignments within Michigan and overtime as needed to meet job commitments.
• Will certify as an industrial radiographer and other NDT test methods after training.
• Work with high energy radioactive isotopes.
