Job summary

Philadelphia Museum of Art is seeking an on-site Audio-Visual Technician to support exhibition and event AV needs. This full-time role demands hands-on setup, operation, and maintenance of sound, video, lighting, projection systems, video recording, and interactive devices across galleries and events.

Qualifications

• Excellent technical knowledge of presentation, video recording, interactive kiosks, videoconferencing, and other AV hardware with a strong working knowledge of IT systems.
• Comprehensive hands‑on AV equipment troubleshooting experience.
• Knowledge of audio and video production and editing hardware/software including Adobe Premiere; knowledge of desktop presentation software - specifically MS PowerPoint and Apple Keynote.
• Strong customer service skills.
• The ability to project manage, prioritize, work with vendors, and execute tasks under deadline pressure is essential.
• A commitment to maintaining and expanding related skillsets is required.
• AVIXA CTS certificate desired.

Responsibilities

• Transport, assemble, operate, maintain, and perform minor repair on AV equipment.
• Assist in the production of audio and video multimedia projects for (but not limited to) exhibits, website, and social media content.
• Carry, set up, adjust, and operate video cameras, recording equipment, sound systems, speakers, projectors, projection screens, video monitors, and lighting equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
