Job summary

AMN Healthcare Language Services is seeking qualified InPerson Interpreters to provide onsite interpretation across medical settings in the Tallahassee area. This freelance role offers flexibility and access to multiple sessions daily via the AMN IPI App.

Qualified interpreters must be fluent in English and Swahili, adhere to medical ethics, complete HIPAA training, and carry credentials such as NBCMI/CCHI and accredited interpreting training.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Swahili with strong verbal skills.
• Knowledge of ethics and standards (IMIA, NBCMI, NCIHC).
• HIPAA training completed within the last year.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective onsite interpreting service for consumers.
• Maintain professional appearance, punctuality and preparedness for shifts.
• Adapt quickly to new technologies used for scheduling and sessions.
• Pass screening before taking in-person commitments.
• Adhere to interpreter ethics and procedural requirements in medical contexts.
• Respect LEP clients’ culture, dialects and preferences during procedures.
• Support customer service and interpreting with a strong service mindset.
