Job summary

Tekberry is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to support our client, a world-class manufacturer of glass and optical products. Based in Newton, NC, this onsite role focuses on equipment installation, debugging, and mechanical readiness for operations receivership.

This position involves collaboration with engineering, operations, and external vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in mechanical, technical, or engineering field.
• 5+ years in new equipment installations in a manufacturing environment.
• OSHA or other safety certifications preferred.
• Strong mechanical fundamentals and ability to read schematics.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe work practices and communicate hazards to the project team.
• Manage installation and debugging activities to meet milestones and timelines.
• Design and implement mechanical solutions to improve equipment capability.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues using data and collaboration with SMEs.
• Manage spare parts identification and storeroom entries per supplier guidance.
• Develop and update engineering and operations documentation.
• Support training for operations workforce regarding equipment changes.
