Job summary

Cube Hub Inc. in Waterloo, IA is seeking a Materials Engineering Lab Technician for a 24-month contract (onsite). The role focuses on supporting materials engineering and laboratory testing tasks under limited supervision, with a Monday–Friday schedule.

You will prepare and analyze samples, perform lab tests, troubleshoot equipment with maintenance teams, maintain lab inventory, and help with process improvements, audits, and records creation.

Qualifications

• 2-year associate technical degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in process control and analytical analysis.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with a shop floor or laboratory environment.
• Understanding of part prints, process instructions, and industry standards.
• Basic knowledge of ferrous machining and materials analysis.
• Knowledge of production and laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze material samples, parts, and processes.
• Perform laboratory testing and support Materials Engineering work requests.
• Troubleshoot lab equipment and process issues with production and maintenance teams.
• Maintain lab equipment, supplies, consumables, and coolant levels.
• Support process improvements, quality checks, audits, and changeovers.
• Create and maintain laboratory procedures, work instructions, and records.
