Job description

Relationship Development | Senior Delivery Consultant in Energy Sector

🌊 Lead Complex Hydro Generator Installations from the Front Line

We are seeking an experienced Hydro Site Manager to lead generator assembly and mechanical installation activities on a major hydroelectric project in Virginia. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who understands large hydro generator systems, site execution, safety, and quality—not a desk‑only position.

If you’ve led generator installation teams, managed supervisors on‑site, and taken ownership from planning through handover, this is a strong long‑term opportunity.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
Operational Leadership
  • Lead end‑to‑end generator assembly and auxiliary installation activities
  • Develop detailed activity planning, sequencing, and resource loading
  • Own site execution, progress tracking, punch lists, and handover readiness
  • Prepare and review project‑specific erection procedures
  • Lead one critical generator assembly directly on large hydro projects
  • Manage risk assessments, action plans, and NCRs through closure
  • Ensure all tools, precision instruments, and calibration certificates are valid
  • Coordinate site testing, documentation, reporting, and field service reports
  • Maintain strict adherence to EHS, quality, and contractual requirements
People & Site Management
  • Lead and coordinate a team of supervisors and site personnel
  • Ensure proper staffing, punctuality, discipline, and performance
  • Provide on‑the‑job training and mentorship to supervisors
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the client and subcontractors
  • Represent the site team with home office and internal stakeholders
Quality, Safety & Performance
  • Enforce EHS standards and stop work if safety or quality is compromised
  • Plan and conduct audits, track action plans, and ensure closure
  • Monitor materials, preservation, shortages, and site logistics
  • Ensure on‑time delivery, quality workmanship, and client satisfaction
What We’re Looking For
  • 10+ years of hydroelectric generator experience (supervisory or site leadership)
  • 5+ years hands‑on mechanical installation experience (shaft lines, turbines, generators, windings)
  • Degree in Engineering or Construction Management (preferred)
  • Strong experience with:
    • Precision mechanical measurements & tools
    • Heavy industrial / hydro equipment
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
    • Comfortable working in field‑based, physically demanding environments
    • Mechanical precision tools & measurements
    • Reading drawings, manuals, and technical specifications
    • Physical work including climbing, lifting (up to 35 lbs), and uneven terrain
    • Sick Pay: 1 hour per 40 hours worked (≈ 6.5 days/year)
Why This Role?
  • Lead a high‑visibility hydro project from the ground up
  • True ownership of generator execution, not just oversight
  • Work with experienced teams on complex, large‑scale equipment
  • Long‑term project stability starting January 2025

If you’re a hydro professional who thrives in site leadership, generator assembly, and hands‑on execution, apply here or message me directly to discuss details.
