Axis Builders, a division of AXIS Real Estate Investment Firm, seeks a full-time Maintenance Technician in Des Moines, IA to renovate, repair, and maintain rental units for high-quality living environments. You will be an onsite presence at our Des Moines properties, delivering friendly, professional service.

The ideal candidate is motivated, solution‑oriented, and able to work independently while communicating effectively with tenants and the team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in renovation, repair, and maintenance work.
• Skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and painting.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and strong problem-solving.
• Excellent communication with tenants, property managers, and teammates.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to regulations.
• Flexibility for evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts.
• Physical stamina for lifting, heights, and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance and repair tasks per schedule, including painting, flooring, fixture installation, HVAC, electrical work, and appliance replacement.
• Document work performed and update work orders in AppFolio; submit receipts and record hours.
• Communicate issues, parts required, and follow-ups to Coordinators and Office.
