Job summary

AVI-SPL, Inc. seeks an Onsite Maintenance Technician to partner with customers and teams to provide on-premises support at client sites in North Carolina.

You will help deliver world-class customer service and ensure AV systems operate smoothly. Responsibilities include setup/teardown of spaces, preventive maintenance, equipment cleaning, and client training on AV technology, with travel to various job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Proficient with hand and power tools including soldering & crimping.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Intermediate computer knowledge.
• Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video and control systems.
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of audiovisual integration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down conference spaces to meet event needs.
• Perform preventative maintenance on AV spaces and test/repair hardware.
• Clean AV equipment such as cameras, monitors, and fans.
• Document job site activities and provide client training on AV tech as needed.
• Provide timely support tasks: meeting support, non-complex AV installations, video/audio recording support.

The Onsite Maintenance Technician will work in partnership with the Customer, management team, Global Helpdesk, and SIG teams to provide on premises support for AVI-SPL customers at customer site(s) with the end goals of delivering a world‑class Customer Service experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Onsite Maintenance Technician will work in partnership with the Customer, management team, Global Helpdesk, and SIG teams to provide on premises support for AVI-SPL customers at customer site(s) with the end goals of delivering a world‑class Customer Service experience.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities

• Setup and breakdown of conference spaces to meet the customers event needs
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks to help maintain customer spaces including but not limited to: ensuring that all technology works as designed and testing/repairing various hardware components
• Clean various AV equipment including but not limited to: camera lenses, monitors and equipment fans.
• Responsible for job site documentation and providing client training on the AV Technology as needed
• Perform support tasks in a timely and quality conscious manner including but not limited to: meeting support, installing non-complex AV components, and video/audio recording support where applicable
• Collaborate with internal/external teams in a professional manner that reflects the values of AVI-SPL
• Understand and adhere to local safety standards for all site duties
• Setup, operate and troubleshoot various audio/video systems
• Travel to various job sites as required.

Items to Consider

• AVI-SPL reserves the right to alter work hours and work location as necessary. Work hours may vary based on client requirements and may include travel to various locations in support of the account.
• This position will generally work on customer sites and may deal with a construction site type of work environment.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Must-Haves

• Ability to effectively communicate with employees, customers and colleagues
• Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner including soldering & crimping connectors
• Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
• Intermediate computer knowledge
• Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video and control
• Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 – 3 years of audiovisual integration experience preferred
