Job summary

LayerZero Power Systems LLC is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator – Machine Safety to develop, coordinate, and continuously improve the site’s EHS programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and related regs. This on-site role focuses on machine safety across the manufacturing floor and collaboration with engineering and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 1910 Subpart O and ANSI standards.
• Experience with risk assessments and machine guarding design.
• Familiarity with CNC machines, conveyors, presses, robotics, and fabrication machinery.
• Proficiency in MS Office and EHS management systems.
• Strong communication skills for training and influencing operators, maintenance personnel, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce machine safety compliance on the manufacturing floor.
• Conduct risk assessments, JHAs, and safety audits to identify hazards.
• Oversee environmental permitting activities for industrial processes.
• Ensure all equipment meets guarding standards and emergency stop systems.
• Lead LOTO programs including procedure development, audits, and compliance verification.
• Investigate incidents and perform root cause analysis with corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate EHS and machine safety documentation and training logs.
• Support rollout of machine safety improvements and equipment upgrades.
• Deliver training on machine safety topics.
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance to ensure safe design and commissioning of equipment.
• Develop and update machine safety policies and procedures.
• Perform pre-use and periodic equipment safety inspections.
• Integrate safe work practices into daily operations.
• Support OSHA machine safety compliance and audits.
• Track near misses and LOTO compliance; report metrics.
• Assist ergonomics/human-machine interaction assessments.
