Job summary

Technical Safety Services in San Jose, CA, is hiring a Low Voltage Electrical Installer to work onsite installing gas detection systems, life safety controls, and related low-voltage electrical systems for a leading R&D equipment manufacturer.

Travel throughout California as needed; this role emphasizes craftsmanship, safety, and adherence to codes, with a fast-paced, technical environment and collaboration with project managers and technicians.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience installing low-voltage electrical or control systems.
  • Experience with conduit installation, pipe bending, wire pulling, and electrical terminations.
  • Experience installing or working within PLC control panels.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, installation manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of life-safety controls and systems.
  • Must pass background checks and be safety-focused.

Responsibilities

  • System Installation – Install gas detection systems, sensors, transmitters, duct mounts, PLC panels, battery backup systems, pull stations, horn/strobes, and other life safety devices.
  • Electrical Installation – Perform conduit installation, pipe bending, wire pulling, termination, and pre-wire electrical systems for new installations.
  • Control Wiring – Pull, terminate, and test CAT6 and multi-conductor control wiring while ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
  • Panel Work – Install and work within PLC control panels while following established electrical safety practices.
  • Documentation & Quality – Maintain accurate work records, follow installation manuals, and ensure all work meets customer specifications and applicable codes.
  • Safety & Compliance – Adhere to company safety standards, legal regulations, and customer site requirements while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Team Collaboration – Work closely with project managers, technicians, and customer personnel to successfully complete installations on schedule.
