Job summary

Technical Safety Services in San Jose, CA, is hiring a Low Voltage Electrical Installer to work onsite installing gas detection systems, life safety controls, and related low-voltage electrical systems for a leading R&D equipment manufacturer.

Travel throughout California as needed; this role emphasizes craftsmanship, safety, and adherence to codes, with a fast-paced, technical environment and collaboration with project managers and technicians.

Qualifications

2–5 years of experience installing low-voltage electrical or control systems.
Experience with conduit installation, pipe bending, wire pulling, and electrical terminations.
Experience installing or working within PLC control panels.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, installation manuals, and technical documentation.
Knowledge of life-safety controls and systems.
Must pass background checks and be safety-focused.

Responsibilities

System Installation – Install gas detection systems, sensors, transmitters, duct mounts, PLC panels, battery backup systems, pull stations, horn/strobes, and other life safety devices.
Electrical Installation – Perform conduit installation, pipe bending, wire pulling, termination, and pre-wire electrical systems for new installations.
Control Wiring – Pull, terminate, and test CAT6 and multi-conductor control wiring while ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
Panel Work – Install and work within PLC control panels while following established electrical safety practices.
Documentation & Quality – Maintain accurate work records, follow installation manuals, and ensure all work meets customer specifications and applicable codes.
Safety & Compliance – Adhere to company safety standards, legal regulations, and customer site requirements while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Team Collaboration – Work closely with project managers, technicians, and customer personnel to successfully complete installations on schedule.
