Job summary

Wieland Group in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Lab Technician to operate and maintain analytical lab equipment, perform chemical analyses, and ensure quality results. The role is onsite and involves maintaining records and supporting continuous improvement within ISO/IATF frameworks.

Ideal candidates hold a STEM degree or an associate degree with 5+ years lab experience, with strong attention to detail and safety in a laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in a STEM field or equivalent lab experience with at least five years.
• Experience operating and maintaining analytical lab equipment preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO and IATF quality systems is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and safety in a lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain lab instruments (OES, XRF, LECO, LUX) for accurate analyses.
• Perform chemical and material analyses using ICP, FTIR, and copper determination methods.
• Inspect samples for defects and determine corrective actions including rework or scrap.
• Document results and maintain lab records per quality standards.
• Support automated lab operations and contribute to continuous improvement.
