Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems is seeking a Junior Network Security Analyst in Columbia, SC, to support enterprise cybersecurity operations in an on-site capacity. You will investigate alerts, assist with infrastructure planning, and help mature security controls in collaboration with the SOC team.

The role requires a BS in a related field or equivalent experience, about 3–5 years of hands-on network security work, and familiarity with firewalls, logs, and security tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/Cybersecurity or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years hands-on network design, implementation or support with IT security.
• Proficient in secure network design, firewalls, logs and telemetry analysis.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and respond to daily network alerts and security events.
• Perform network security assessments for firewall and infrastructure changes.
• Analyze network security planning and engineering initiatives.
• Review connectivity, website block and firewall rule requests to manage risk.
• Analyze on-prem and cloud networks for potential threats.
• Develop and analyze network traffic reports for standard violations.
• Monitor emerging threat vectors and suggest mitigations.
• Collaborate with business units to implement security controls.
• Support cloud and on-premise network changes and system upgrades.
• Participate in firewall configuration reviews and rule recertifications.
