Indotronix is seeking a Material Planner II for a job opportunity in CA-San Diego. This position requires onsite presence.

Job Description:
  • Solicit suppliers for price and availability information for materials.
  • Identify Long Lead Time Materials (LLTM) and manage related processes.
  • Generate Pre-Proposal Inquiry (PPI), Request for Clarification (RFC), and Inspection / Deficiency Report (IDR) as needed.
  • Review correspondence and take appropriate actions.
  • Interface with trades to ensure material estimates and requisitions are accurate and support production efforts.
  • Coordinate with vendors to meet schedule and delivery requirements.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing Department for cost and supplier information, and provide RFQ details.
  • Maintain communication with Labor Estimators, Buyers, Ship Superintendents, Craft Supervisors, Craft Personnel, and outside suppliers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
Required Skill Set:
  • Ability to interpret drawings, manuals, and specifications for material estimates on US Navy and Commercial ships.
  • Develop estimates for repairs, new work, and contract changes.
  • Provide efficient solutions to meet production needs.
  • Identify and select vendors based on price, quality, and delivery.
  • Maintain good supplier relationships and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers.
  • Assist in supplier assessment and sourcing.
  • Participate in supplier meetings and negotiations.
  • Resolve supplier issues and evaluate performance.
Education Qualification:

Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
