Job summary

Episcopal Community Services (ECS) is seeking an IPS-based employment specialist to help participants obtain and maintain competitive jobs in the community. The role requires extensive in-person engagement and strong employer relations, with 65% of time spent in the field.

You will develop individualized employment plans, coordinate with mental health teams and families, and provide follow-along supports to clients to promote job retention and success.

Qualifications

• Education and experience equivalent to undergraduate degree in mental health, social services, or business.
• Experience working with people with severe mental illness, homelessness, substance use disorders, or comorbidities.
• Experience providing employment services and knowledge of the work world.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients to obtain and maintain competitive employment via the IPS model.
• Develop job opportunities through job development and search activities.
• Make at least six employer contacts per week to identify opportunities and supports.
• Provide individualized follow-along supports and write job support plans with client input.
• Assist clients with understanding entitlements (SSI/Medicaid) and arrange benefits counseling.
• Document all work in the client management database.
