Job summary

Therma in San Jose, CA is seeking an Inventory Control Coordinator to maintain accurate inventory levels of sheet metal materials, fittings, and shop supplies, and to ensure availability for production schedules onsite.

You will work with Foremen, Purchasing, and Fabrication to optimize material flow, perform cycle counts, and uphold safety and OSHA standards in a union shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years in inventory control, warehouse ops, or material management.
• Experience in sheet metal fabrication, HVAC, construction, or manufacturing.
• Ability to read BOMs, fabrication drawings, and purchase orders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory systems.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify incoming materials against POs, packing slips, and shipping docs.
• Maintain accurate inventory of sheet metal stock, coils, ducts, hardware, and shop consumables.
• Perform daily inventory monitoring and cycle counts; conduct monthly/annual physical inventories.
• Coordinate material issuance to fabrication personnel based on production schedules.
• Ensure work centers have materials available to meet production demands.
• Maintain organized storage areas and proper handling to prevent damage.
• Communicate shortages and lead times to shop leadership; support scheduling.
• Follow safety policies, union work rules, OSHA-compliant handling, and training.
