Job summary

Wood is seeking an Instrument & Electrical Designer to support small facility-based projects in an active chemical manufacturing plant as part of the Bishop, Texas capital projects group. The role is onsite and involves designing instrumentation and electrical systems, reviewing drawings, and working closely with project teams to ensure safety and compliance.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in industrial design, experience in chemical manufacturing, and is proficient with MicroStation, Word,

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of industrial experience in design field.
• Experience in Chemical Manufacturing or related Industry is required.
• Proficiency in MicroStation; proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Provide Instrument & Electrical designs for capital and maintenance projects.
• Field as-built updates as required.
• Read and understand documents describing scope of work (vendor drawings, one-lines, electrical plans, conduit schedules, wiring schematics, and loop diagrams).
• Create instrument loops, wiring diagrams, plan and location drawings, conduit layouts, and cable tray layouts.
• Perform material take-offs and create BOMs; assist with construction estimating.
