Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Refrigeration Maintenance Technician for 2nd Shift in Springdale, OH.

You will perform planned and unplanned maintenance on ammonia refrigeration systems, motors, pumps, valves and controls to keep production lines running safely and efficiently. The role requires RETA certification or willingness to obtain it, adherence to safety and food-safety practices, and the ability to work as part of a team or independently to solve equipment issues across shifts

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1+ years in industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing.
• Knowledge in refrigeration systems common to food processing and safety practices.
• Certification or degree in mechanical/electrical maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct equipment repairs with team collaboration.
• Perform routine audits and inspections of refrigeration systems.
• Display troubleshooting skills to resolve equipment issues promptly.
• Maintain clear, professional communication with operations personnel.
• Respond to unplanned/emergency work requests promptly and safely.
