Job summary

Windjammer Environmental seeks a mid-level Industrial Hygienist/Safety Specialist to provide on-site IH and occupational safety support at a federal facility in Washington, DC. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene, environmental health, safety, engineering, or a related STEM field.
• 3–6 years of professional industrial hygiene or occupational safety experience with administrative and programmatic responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of OSHA recordkeeping and incident investigation processes.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint or similar).

Responsibilities

• Maintain OSHA injury and illness recordkeeping (OSHA 300, 300A, 301) for accuracy and timeliness.
• Conduct safety incident reviews, root cause analyses, and trend evaluations; write summaries and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with development, review, and updates of safety and industrial hygiene policies, SOPs, and program documents.
• Support internal and external safety audits, inspections, and assessments; track findings to closure.
• Prepare high-quality written reports, memoranda, SOPs, policy updates, and briefing materials for diverse audiences.
