Job summary

Central Vermont Medical Center is seeking an Inventory Specialist to support the efficient flow of supplies across the hospital. You will receive, track, store, distribute, and replenish inventory to ensure patient care continuity and smooth operations.

Collaborating with Supply Chain colleagues and internal customers, you will maintain accurate records, perform cycle counts, and uphold safety and regulatory standards in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to lift and move materials and work in a physically active warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming deliveries for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
  • Enter inventory transactions and maintain accurate records within the inventory management system.
  • Monitor inventory levels and replenish stock to ensure adequate supply availability.
  • Pick, pack, and distribute inventory orders to hospital departments and clinical units.
  • Restock supply locations and maintain organized inventory storage areas.
  • Coordinate product returns, replacements, and damaged goods with Supply Chain team members and vendors.
  • Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Rotate inventory using FIFO practices and monitor expiration dates.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant warehouse environment.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely, including pallet jacks and loading dock equipment.
  • Provide excellent customer service when supporting internal departments and responding to inquiries.
  • Train and support new team members on warehouse operations and inventory processes.
  • Follow all hospital safety protocols, policies, and regulatory requirements.
