Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Histology Technician II for on-site, part-time work in Anatomic Pathology.

Under supervision, you will prepare tissue specimens, process and stain slides, and maintain equipment, with ASCP eligibility and 1 year of lab experience preferred.

This role supports surgical pathology and dermatology workflows with a Monday–Friday schedule and occasional weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of an accredited Histotechnology program.
• ASCP Certification eligible.
• 1 year of experience in an anatomic pathology laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Process and prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination.
• Prepare histology slides from surgical and diagnostic sources; staining and mounting.
• Fixation, embedding, sectioning, and routine staining of paraffin blocks.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment; perform quality control.
• Maintain organization and safety of laboratory supplies and workflow.
