Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. is seeking a hands-on maintenance helper for heavy equipment at our Leadville/Colorado operations. The role focuses on safe repair and preventative maintenance of haul trucks, dozers, loaders, and graders, with guidance from Journeyman Mechanics.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, strong safety posture, and the ability to pass a written assessment where required. On-site work includes housing allowance eligibility and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Must understand and follow verbal and written safety instructions in English.
• Ability to pass a written assessment where required.

Responsibilities

• Safely assist with maintenance and repair of heavy equipment (haul trucks, water trucks, dozers, loaders, graders).
• Assist Journeyman Mechanics with maintenance on transmissions, engines, brakes, differentials, pumps and motors.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete work orders and documentation.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform housekeeping and area checks.
• May operate equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and small mobile equipment.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.
