Job summary

Gifthealth is seeking a Security Officer to protect personnel, property, and assets at our Ohio facilities. You will perform patrols, manage access control, respond to incidents, and maintain a safe environment that supports daily operations.

You must hold a high school diploma or GED and a valid security guard license, with CPR/First Aid certification or the ability to obtain it within 30 days. The role requires reliability, independence, and clear written reporting, with the physical capacity

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid security guard license required.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in dynamic situations.
• Basic written communication skills; ability to complete clear, accurate written reports.
• Ability to respond quickly to security related events and medical incidents, lift or carry equipment, participate in defensive tactics.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular foot patrols of interior and exterior areas; monitor for unauthorized activity, safety hazards, or policy violations.
• Control access to facilities by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor logs, and enforcing entry procedures.
• Monitor surveillance systems and alarm panels; report and respond to alerts according to established protocols.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, medical emergencies, or disturbances; provide first-response assistance and notify appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate, timely incident reports documenting observations, actions taken, and outcomes.
• Provide visible, professional security presence that deters theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
• Assist employees and visitors with directions, safety guidance, and general inquiries.
• Support emergency evacuation procedures and participate in safety drills.
• Maintain all security equipment in proper working condition; report malfunctions to the Supervisor immediately.
• Adhere to all Gifthealth security policies, post orders, and applicable local regulations
