Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Hardware Tools and Libraries Intern in Sunnyvale, CA to support our hardware design environment, EDA tools, and libraries. You will gain hands-on experience with CAD tools, Linux, and scripting while contributing to design workflows from concept to finish.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's in Electrical or Computer Engineering, have coursework in programming, and are eager to learn about ASIC/PCB processes, Python or Tcl, and Unix shells.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Coursework in programming and scripting.
• Interest in hardware design and its environment and methodology.
• Analytical mindset and problem-solving ability.
• Experience with Linux is preferred.
• Familiarity with ASIC and/or PCB design processes.
• Experience with Python, Tcl, Unix Shell, or other scripting languages.

Responsibilities

• Develop new scripts or update existing scripts that monitor the status of our design environment and servers used by hardware design teams.
• Help debug and root cause issues with CAD design tools and their environment, setup files, and server/network requirements.
• Interact with IT to resolve login and environment issues on machines and networks.
• Assist with downloading and installing complex design tools, creating setup files, and initial testing before handover to end users.
• Write scripts that run on Linux or PC to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
• Learn, document, and update scripts to improve engineering design flows.
