Job summary

Stockell Consulting is seeking an Engineering Technician — Hardware Test & Production for a 6-month contract in Knoxville, TN. This onsite role involves testing, configuring, calibrating, and upgrading hardware before shipment, following engineering procedures and schematics.

You will work across production tasks, including packing and receiving when testing slows, with occasional overtime. No degree required; hands-on hardware experience counts most.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in a manufacturing, production, or hardware testing environment.
• Familiarity with bench test equipment — oscilloscopes, voltmeters, signal generators.
• Able to read and work from engineering procedures, schematics, and written work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail — test records are a quality document, not a formality.
• Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Reliable and accountable — this is a small team on a fixed daily schedule.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment, onsite five days a week.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, test, calibrate, and upgrade hardware products following engineering procedures and work instructions
• Execute product testing against engineering test procedures, schematics, and quality standards
• Document and record test results accurately to quality requirements
• Troubleshoot basic hardware and system issues as they come up
• Support production activities including assembly, picking, packing, shipping, and receiving
• Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Pitch in across other operational areas as the team’s priorities shift
