Job summary

PRIDE Industries in California seeks a Grounds Maintenance Manager to direct and coordinate comprehensive grounds care under a federal contract. You will lead a team, manage budgets, and ensure safe, compliant operations across multiple sites.

You will oversee equipment, pest management, vendor relations, and performance metrics, driving quality and safety while supporting residents and staff in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of landscaping and grounds maintenance experience, with at least three years in supervision.
• Experience with adults with developmental disabilities and/or physical challenges preferred.
• Technical courses in horticulture and agriculture preferred.
• Knowledge of landscape maintenance, design and cost estimating.
• Knowledge of safe operation of landscaping equipment such as front loaders, backhoes, forklifts, trenchers, and mowers.
• Familiarity with SOW and contract terms and ability to apply them.
• Knowledge of planning, purchasing, and project management.
• Knowledge of Cal OSHA and OSHA regulations.
• Supervisory skills to hire and develop staff and manage performance.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; make presentations.
• Strong leadership, organization, problem solving and analytical skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Human relations skills to work with team, customers and public.
• Advanced computer literacy: word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates, directs, and manages staff in performing landscape maintenance activities and improvement projects at customer locations.
• Works with customers and management to estimate costs and develop project budgets and schedules.
• Identifies personnel requirements to support contract requirements and sets priorities.
• Supervises employees and develops a motivated team through hiring, training, and performance reviews.
• Manages the grounds maintenance contract and ensures compliance with terms and obligations.
• Oversees purchase and maintenance of vehicles, equipment, and supplies; coordinates vendor contracts.
• Develops Pest Management programs with Integrated Pest Management practices.
• Ensures compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
• Serves as primary informational resource for grounds maintenance; troubleshoots issues.
• Logs attendance, work orders, and labor data; conducts quality assurance inspections.
