Job summary

SNA International is seeking a detail-oriented Forensic Anthropologist Postgraduate Research Associate to support the DPAA in Hawaii. The role focuses on osteological analyses, biological profiling, and producing expert forensic reports.

The position is 100% onsite at the DPAA laboratory in Hawaii, with travel as needed. Requirements include a Master's in anthropology, 5 years of biological profiling experience, and proficiency in osteological methods and ForDisc/StarLIMS.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in anthropology or related field.
• Five years of experience generating a biological profile or writing technical reports.
• Two years of professional work experience in a forensic anthropology laboratory setting.
• Expert knowledge in human skeletal anatomy.
• Experience with osteological analysis and generating a biological profile including ancestry.
• Experience assisting DPAA identifications from commingled remains.

Responsibilities

• Conducts osteological/anthropological analyses and produces forensic reports.
• Nominates samples for DNA/histology and assesses biological profiles.
• Performs radiographic imaging and compares ante- and postmortem data.
• Peer reviews reports and maintains SOP proficiency.
• Travel nationally and internationally as required (5–10%).
