Job summary

SNA International is seeking a detail-oriented Forensic Anthropologist Postgraduate Research Associate to join the DPAA team in Hawaii. This onsite role focuses on osteological analyses, biological profiling, and expert reporting to identify unaccounted-for service members.

The candidate will conduct research, utilize StarLIMS, and collaborate across teams while meeting tight deadlines. Travel 5–10% may be required to support national and international requests.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in anthropology or related field.
• Pass competency tests within 90 days.
• Five (5) years of experience with generating a biological profile.
• Two (2) years of professional work experience in a forensic anthropology laboratory setting.
• Demonstrated experience in osteological analysis and biological profiling including ancestry.

Responsibilities

• Conducts osteological/anthropological analyses and produces Forensic Anthropology Reports.
• Performs forensic anthropological research and tests; interprets data from various sources.
• Conducts evidence database searches and provides expert review of reports and packets.
• Performs radiographic image capture and compares antemortem and postmortem imagery.
• Conducts segregation analyses of commingled remains and produces related reports.
• Completes reports, reviews, and manuscripts; maintains SOP competency.
• Assists with evidence movement and handling; supports lab duties.
• Travels nationally and internationally as required; prepares presentations.
