Job summary

PRIDE Industries is seeking a Floor Technician to support custodial operations at our facilities in the New Orleans area. Under supervision, you will clean floors using standard and specialized equipment, perform routine cleaning tasks, and help maintain a safe, presentable environment.

The role requires prior custodial experience, the ability to follow directions, and the capacity to operate floor machines and scrubbers. Shift work, physical tasks, and safety adherence are essential.

Qualifications

• One year previous custodial experience; floor care preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions on labels for proper and safe use of chemicals and equipment.
• Ability to learn to operate custodial equipment such as scrubbers and buffers.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respond to customer questions.
• Human relations skills to build effective working relationships.
• Basic mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to manage and track material resources and time; adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to work independently and during second/third shifts.
• Demonstrated organizational, problem solving and common sense skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled floor cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Inspect and prepare equipment and chemicals for procedures.
• Operate floor machines and perform quality reviews of work.
• Wax and buff floors with appropriate machines.
• Maintain custodial equipment and safety practices.
• Clean spills promptly and secure equipment after tasks.
• Perform general janitorial tasks as needed.
• Travel between worksites as required.
