The ideal candidate has at least two years of medical billing experience, strong knowledge of UB-04/CMS-1500 and payer requirements, and Epic Resolute HB experience.

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent required.
• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience preferred.
• Two years experience of medical billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle experience required.
• One year of hands-on experience working billing work queues in Epic Resolute (HB, PB, or both) required.
• Working knowledge of UB-04 and CMS-1500 claim forms, CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, and revenue codes required.
• Previous experience with commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care billing requirements required.
• Preferred: clearinghouse platforms (SSI) and payer portals (Availity, Waystar, Experian).
• Experience supporting work queue build, routing rules, or workflow redesign initiatives preferred.
• State Pharmacy Technician license preferred.
• Epic Resolute Hospital Billing certification/proficiency/credentialing preferred.
• CRCR/CPB or comparable certification preferred.
• Advanced certifications (CHRI, CRCR, 340B ACE) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and work assigned Epic Pharmacy Med Charge HB work queues daily, resolving accounts within timeliness standards.
• Review and resolve claim edits and errors, ensuring payer/billing requirements are met before release.
• Analyze accounts to identify root causes of edits and correct patient and charge information as needed.
• Prioritize queue volumes based on dollar amount, deadlines, aging, and direction.
• Identify recurring edit trends and escalate systemic issues for resolution.
• Collaborate with coding, registration, clinical, and IT teams to resolve cross-functional accounts.
• Document all account activity clearly in Epic with notes and codes.
• Recommend improvements to queue rules and workflows to increase efficiency.
• Assist with testing of Epic upgrades and new billing edits.
• Maintain knowledge of payer guidelines and HIPAA policies.
