Job summary

Triumvirate Environmental, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Specialist to support Lab & Onsite Services, managing hazardous waste programs on client sites in the Somerset, NJ area.

The role requires understanding OSHA regulations, waste documentation, and on-site safety practices to ensure compliant, safe operations. Responsibilities include waste prep, inspections, spill response, and on-call emergency support, with a focus on exceptional customer service and regulatory compliance for clients

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the hazardous-waste industry or relevant military experience.
• Ability to work as a member of a team as well as individually.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and implement strategies for positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of OSHA regulations and Triumvirate’s Health and Safety practices.
• Prepare chemical and biological waste for shipment, including paperwork and documentation.
• Safely handle hazardous waste containers on client sites and assist in loading/unloading waste.
• Conduct safety equipment and hazardous waste inspections.
• Occasionally perform Environmental Health and Safety audits for clients.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and innovative solutions to clients.
• Develop regulatory expertise for client compliance (e.g., RCRA, DOT, OSHA).
• Conduct spill response assessments and cleanup efforts.
• Rotate on-call responsibilities as part of the Emergency Response team.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in hazardous-waste industry
