Job summary

Sidus Space in Cape Canaveral, FL is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and implement embedded software for flight-critical systems. You will collaborate with hardware engineers and participate in architecture reviews.

This role is 100% onsite in Cape Canaveral and requires strong C/C++, Linux experience, and hands-on hardware bring-up. You will be involved in cross-functional teamwork and adherence to quality processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong C and C++ proficiency with modern embedded practices.
• Experience with bare-metal drivers for I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, GPIO.
• Linux systems level experience: userspace drivers, /dev, /proc, kernel APIs.
• FPGA design process familiarity and board bring-up experience.
• DevSecOps, Git and JIRA experience.
• Linux embedded software development including firmware images and kernel config.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, debugs, tests, and implement embedded software for systems.
• Work with a cross-functional team of engineers.
• Onsite duties at Cape Canaveral, FL.
• Develop software/firmware in C/C++ and Embedded C.
• Understand interfaces like SPI, I2C, USB, UART.
• Use version control, simulation, debugging tools.
• Support testing, deployment, and updates.
