Job summary

INNIO is seeking an Onsite Electro-Mechanical Field Service Technician in Utah to perform mechanical and electrical field service on Jenbacher gas engines. Responsibilities include commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and minor overhauls for engines ranging 0.25–9.5 MW powered by natural gas or other gases.

The role requires 4 years reciprocating engine experience, a valid driver’s license, and relocation to the Salt Lake City area. Competitive compensation and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 4 years of reciprocating engine experience preferred.
• Experience as car mechanic, car electrician, or electrician beneficial.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicle.
• Willingness to relocate to the Salt Lake City area or reside nearby.

Responsibilities

• Execute service on Jenbacher gas engines following maintenance protocol.
• Perform minor repairs in addition to planned service.
• Coordinate with external suppliers for specialized tasks.
• Monitor EHS compliance at the job site.
• Analyze engine failures in mechanics/electronics domains.
• Troubleshoot engines on-site for electronics and mechanical issues.
• Prepare visit reports detailing reason, symptoms, actions, and hours.
• Create fault reports with background information.
• Ensure spare parts are available and workspace remains clean.

Role Summary:

This Onsite Electro-Mechanical Field Service Technician will perform mechanical and/or electrical hands-on field service work on Jenbacher Gas Engines, including but not limited to commissioning, troubleshooting, periodic maintenance, and minor overhaul, Jenbacher Gas Engines range in power from 0.25 to 9.5 MW, and run on either natural gas or a variety of other gases (e.g., biogas, landfill gas, coal mine gas, sewage gas, combustible industrial waste gases).

Essential Responsibilities:

• Execute service on the engines in compliance with the maintenance protocol. For example checking oil, replace filters and valves and diverse types of measurements.
• carry out minor repairs on the engine additional to the planned service
• execute major service on the engine in cooperation with colleagues in compliance with the protocol for major service
• Coordinate the task with external suppliers who provide specialist duties
• Monitor activities of the maintenance compliant to the EHS protocol
• Analyze failures on the engines in the specialism of Mechanics, electronics and the associated software systems. Check historical data of the engine;
• Troubleshooting engines on the field of Electronics and mechanics
• Create a visit reports of the site regarding reason for visit, symptoms, actions, use of materials, parts and hours, the result and if needed follow-up actions
• Create a report on common faults and describe the background of this fault
• Ensure that a basic set of spare parts are in the van, ensure that the materials are approved and have a clean working environment
• Work effectively as part of a team of technicians or independently
• Process timesheets, expense reports, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) forms, and job reports in a timely manner
• Comply with all EHS policies and procedures to ensure a safe and productive work site
• Perform others duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 4 years of reciprocating engine experience preferred
• Experience as car mechanic, car electrician, and electrician
• Mechanical Technician or higher
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
• Ability to meet and maintain insurability standards to drive a company vehicle when needed
• Living in the Salt Lake City area or willing to relocate there

Compensation Range:

$60,240.00 - $90,360.00 (Varies depending on relevancy of experience, technical certifications and other job-related criteria).
