Job summary

ARA seeks a Control Systems Engineer to join our team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head site. The role focuses on evaluating test equipment, ordnance and test facilities for fault tolerance and electrical safety, with collaboration across engineering disciplines.

The candidate will design, plan and oversee the manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance of electrical components and systems, while ensuring regulatory compliance and readiness for security clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 2-4 years of related experience, or Master's with 0-2 years.
• Experience troubleshooting and diagnostics of Allen Bradley/Rockwell control systems.
• AutoCAD experience.
• EPLAN experience.
• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Experience with process safety and material handling compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, dynamic environments with rapid changes in scope.
• Strong written and oral communication, ability to tailor presentations to diverse audiences.
• Able to undergo and pass a DoT medical exam and a drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate test equipment, ordnance and test facility for fault tolerance and electrical safety.
• Design, plan and oversee manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance of electrical components, equipment and systems.
• Work with engineers in other disciplines to augment production size and value.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and security clearance prerequisites.
