Thomas Jefferson University seeks a data scientist to lead data-driven decision support in an onsite role at Fort Washington, PA. You will analyze healthcare data, build predictive models, and collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to improve outcomes.

The position requires a master’s in a quantitative field and at least 3 years of experience with Python, R, and SQL, plus experience with machine learning and data visualization.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of data science or related work experience.
• Knowledge of data management languages and technologies including Python, R, and SQL (or similar languages).
• Proven experience in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Understanding of machine learning algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Perform data extraction, cleaning, and harmonization.
• Complete data analysis and statistical modeling to support decision-making.
• Develop predictive models, conduct statistical analysis, and design experiments for data-driven decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business problems solvable with data science.
• Interpret and visualize model results for stakeholders.
• Conduct basic modeling and analysis of customer, transaction, and campaign data to identify trends and patterns.
• Use insights from segmentation to identify consumer behavior.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret information from multiple data sources to identify efficiencies, consumer perspectives on health care, and revenue opportunities.
• Assist with analytical modeling and data mining techniques on large and varied data sets.
• Design data visualizations that communicate complex findings to clinical staff, administrators, and hospital leadership.
• Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms through development and testing for clinical and non-clinical environments.
• Support data collection, distribution, and analysis efforts, including ETL processes to CRM cloud platforms such as Salesforce.
