Job summary

Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. (BPMI) is seeking a Data Science Intern to support data science adoption and reporting within our project execution framework.

The role involves collaborating with SMEs to solve problems using program data and to enhance BPMI’s data infrastructure, with a summer 2027 start and a 40-hour work week in the Monroeville, PA office. The internship provides exposure to BPMI, the Navy, and the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, with opportunities to develop business skills

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Data Science, Computer Science, Business Intelligence, Engineering or related undergraduate degree program from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of six (6) semesters completed prior to internship (~90 credits).
• Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the structuring and analysis of both technical and business data sets.
• Collaborate with data owners to clearly define problems and provide consultation on solutions.
• Partner with data engineers to develop and enhance data infrastructure.
• Help to foster a culture focused on data analytics.
• Stay current on data science trends and techniques.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
