Job summary

ERM is hiring a Construction Safety Manager onsite at a key technology client’s Data Center project in Abilene, Texas. The role focuses on establishing and continuously improving safety programs, site-wide safety systems, and compliance across multi-trade environments.

The candidate should have 5+ years in H&S within construction, data center experience preferred, and may offer CHST/CSP certification. This is a full-time, limited-term role (12 months, extendable) requiring strong communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with H&S in the construction industry; 2 years data center construction experience preferred.
• CHST/CSP certification a plus.
• Proficient with managing high-risk activities including electrical safety, excavation, fall protection, and crane operations.
• Experience communicating and solving problems with subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Champion a strong safety culture across the site and maximize personnel involvement in safety activities.
• Provide timely, high quality safety technical support.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections to monitor compliance with site rules and procedures.
• Coordinate job safety analyses, risk assessments and pre-task plans.
• Prepare and submit local, state, and internal reports as needed.
• Lead investigations into serious adverse events and monitor safety performance.
• Coordinate local business continuity, emergency response, and crisis management plans.
