Job summary

Meta is seeking a Leased Facility Engineer to manage onsite operations in leased data centers. You will lead maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, coordinate with landlords, and oversee vendors to ensure uptime and safety.

The role requires strong technical and coordination skills, the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment, and a track record of safe, compliant facility management.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, or controls maintenance.
• Associate's degree in engineering plus 5+ years, or Bachelor's degree plus 3+ years in related field.
• Hands-on operations and maintenance of critical facility systems.
• Proficient with maintenance management programs and basic computer systems.
• Strong communication and liaison skills with internal teams and landlords/vendors.
• Able to traverse job sites with varied terrain and lift 45 pounds+.
• Able to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary onsite representative for Meta Facility Operations.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and controls.
• Develop, update, and validate maintenance procedures and checklists.
• Monitor alarms, notifications, and building systems.
• Respond to abnormal conditions and restore operations promptly.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, asset inventories, and service logs.
• Manage and mitigate risks at the interface with the landlord.
• Coordinate with landlords to deconflict schedules and processes.
• Oversee vendors and contractors, ensuring compliance and quality.
• Act as first responder for Meta-owned assets within leased sites.
• Contact landlord onsite team during emergencies.
• Conduct incident review meetings and track action items.
• Support PQS training for new Leased Facility Engineers.
• Supervise participation in shift work and labor-hour recording.
• Lead cross-functional planning meetings to align schedules.
