Job summary

Five9 in Santa Clara, CA is seeking an experienced Data Center Engineer for our Infrastructure Reliability team. The role focuses on building and installing hardware components, long-term planning, and optimization of the data center environment.

This position is fully onsite five days a week. You will manage hardware, software, and network connections to ensure reliability, security, and efficiency of operations, with responsibilities spanning installation, maintenance, and disaster recovery

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years hands on experience with Data Centre technologies – compute, network, storage, cabling, racks, PDUs, etc.
• Strong Linux/Unix system administration, networking, and SAN connectivity skills.
• Experience coordinating with vendors and handling quote-purchase and RMAs.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing new data center infrastructure for performance, security, and scalability.
• Build, manage and maintain company infrastructure in global data centers.
• Perform equipment installs – compute, network, storage, racks, PDUs, cabling, etc.
• Closely monitor infrastructure to prevent failures and service degradation.
• Monitor power usage, balancing and availability in each cabinet.
• Collaborate with other engineers and IT to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
