SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory in Menlo Park, CA, seeks an Accelerator Technologist II to operate the cryogenics plant. You will monitor cryogenic systems, maintain records, and work with engineers and physicists on system performance.

Expect on-site, 24/7 rotating shifts with possible overtime. Required two years in lab or industrial mechanical/electrical work; familiarity with instrumentation, controls, PLCs, and electrical/electronic schematics is preferred.

Formación

• H.S./GED or vocational apprenticeship with two years in lab or industrial mechanical/electrical work; substitution allowed.
• Ability to read instrument, piping, electrical and electronic drawings/sketches.
• Experience diagnosing helium cryogenic process issues.
• Ability to communicate technical issues with engineers and others in diverse teams.

Responsabilidades

• Follow safety and operating procedures; complete required training.
• Monitor and adjust cryogenics control functions for optimal performance.
• Maintain equipment operating records and log sheets.
• Operate and diagnose complex cryogenic system equipment.
• Coordinate with researchers, engineers and technicians on installation and performance.
