Job summary

Toyota Automated Logistics is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join the Bastian Controls department. You will lead on-site commissioning for complex warehouse automation projects, write FSDs, design field layouts, and develop PLC programs following our standards.

This role requires PLC/HMI experience, panel design, hands-on aptitude, and strong teamwork. Travel is 30-50%. A bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent is expected, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or 1+ years’ experience in industry.
• PLC/HMI experience and panel design experience.
• Hands-on and mechanical aptitude.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain understanding of engineering standards.
• Write Functional Spec Documents (FSDs).
• Design Field Device Layouts and Electrical Schematics with ACAD Electrical.
• Develop PLC programs following standards and on-site commissioning.
• Startup and commission full systems from start to finish.
• Maintain communication with peers, stakeholders, and leadership.
• Provide cross-functional support and drive project success.
• Complete administrative tasks and represent the company professionally.
