Job summary

Evans General Contractors, LLC is seeking an attorney with 5–7 years of construction-law experience to join our Legal Department in an on-site role. The position focuses on negotiating owner contracts, advising on project risk, and ensuring regulatory compliance across multiple projects.

The ideal candidate will have a JD, be licensed to practice in the U.S., and demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills to work with internal teams and external counsel.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and negotiate owner contracts, subcontracts, design agreements, and purchase orders.
  • Provide legal support throughout the project lifecycle—from RFP responses and preconstruction to post-construction warranty and claims.
  • Advise project teams on legal matters including change orders, claims, notices, and contract administration.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external counsel to resolve legal issues and support business objectives.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare opinions and correspondence.
  • Participate in regulatory compliance efforts and risk mitigation strategies.
