Job summary

Evans General Contractors, LLC is seeking an attorney with 5–7 years of construction law experience to join our Legal Department at an onsite office. The role focuses on strategic contract negotiation, legal counsel, and risk management across project lifecycles in multiple states.

Ideal candidates will interpret complex contracts, support RFPs, preconstruction to warranty, and collaborate with internal teams and external counsel.

Qualifications

  • Requires JD and bar licensure in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 5–7 years of construction law and contract negotiation experience.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to interpret and negotiate complex contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and negotiate owner contracts, subcontracts, design agreements, and purchase orders.
  • Provide legal support throughout the project lifecycle—from RFP responses and preconstruction to post-construction warranty and claims.
  • Advise project teams on legal matters including change orders, claims, notices, and contract administration.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external counsel to resolve legal issues and support business objectives.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare opinions and correspondence.
  • Participate in regulatory compliance efforts and risk mitigation strategies.
