Job summary

EFCO Corp. in Des Moines, IA is seeking a CNC Operator to set up, program, and run milling centers and lathes to produce precision parts in accordance with blueprints and specifications.

You will interpret blueprints and work instructions to execute accurate machining operations while maintaining quality and efficiency. You will inspect finished parts with calipers and micrometers, document production steps in Kronos-like systems, and keep a clean, safe work area onsite at our Des Moines plant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; certificate in Manual Machining or CNC Programming, or two years equivalent CNC experience.
• Working knowledge of machining and basic programming.
• Strong math and computer skills.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and work instructions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling centers and lathes, including programming of parts without existing instructions.
• Interpret blueprints and work instructions to execute accurate machining operations.
• Perform regular inspections using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision tools.
• Record labor entries and job progress in work orders.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation throughout the production process.
• Safely transport materials and parts using overhead cranes, forklifts, or jib cranes.
• Perform routine maintenance and daily cleaning tasks to keep equipment and workstations hazard-free.
• Diagnose and resolve minor tooling, machine, or part-related issues to reduce downtime.
• Comply with EFCO safety protocols and participate in safety training.
