Universal Healthcare MSO LLC is seeking a Claims Examiner II in Bakersfield, CA. This onsite role focuses on adjudicating professional and institutional medical claims (CMS 1500/UB04) with accuracy and adherence to contracts and policies.

The position is full-time and non-exempt, paid hourly, with a starting range of $21.40–$26.74 per hour plus benefits. Expect standard 8–5 Pacific Time hours and a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) plan and life insurance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with professional and institutional claim processing; HIPAA compliance.
• Familiarity with CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, ASA, Revenue Codes.
• Proficient data entry and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and process medical claims per criteria and procedures.
• Evaluate eligibility, benefits, authorizations and coding for payments.
• Apply contracts and fee schedules to claims and ensure timely processing.
• Deny or approve claims and generate accurate correspondence.
• Coordinate with UM and other staff for claim resolution.
• Maintain production and quality standards; work independently.
